Q: What are some good vegetarian dishes?
I just recently to stop eating meat, but its going to be hard to get the right protien and iron. Im already anemic, so its somewhat of a health hazard. Oh and Im a total Italian girl, I love pasta! Thats my problem, while becoming a vegetarian, I cant just eat pasta. Thats deffinitly not healthy. So Im just looking for some yummy veg dishes. Oh and Im not vegan, so they can have milk, cheese, etc. And other tips you have with vegetarian health, would be nice. Thanks =]
A: I have been a Vegetarian for over twenty years. My wife is also a Vegetarian. She is also anemic. I would strongly recommend a Lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet. Eggs are good for you. Take a good multi-vitamin or Iron tablet daily to keep your body balanced due to your anemia. Eat plenty of fresh fruit (bananas,)and dark green leafy vegetables and beets. Don't forget whole grain foods, nuts, and don't forget the peanut butter and raisins.
You can find an abundance of frozen vegetarian meats (Morning star products) at most food centers.
Q: Will I lose weight if I eat vegetarian dishes only?
So, I've noticed that lately my clothes haven't been fitting right. So I assume I haven't been eating as well as normal, which is right. If I eat almost exclusive vegetarian dishes, will I lose weight?
A: Depends on the dish. Vegetarian dishes/foods tend to be more healthier than animal's; but there are some fattening and junk food veg dishes out there. But if you eat healthy vegan dishes and mostly stay away from the junk foods, and exercise you will loose weight.

Q: What are some cold Japanese vegetarian dishes?
I need names/recipes/websites for COLD, JAPANESE or KOREAN, VEGETARIAN dishes. I got kimchi and sushi, what else is out there? Thanks
A: Hiyayakko. Its so simple, but very good. Its basically just tofu with Citrus flavored soy sauce (called Ponsu) and some green onion on top.
Q: Anyone know of some good vegetarian dishes I can easily make at home?
I don't like sweets at all I'm more of a salt lover. I'm just looking for a couple suggestions on what else to eat because sometimes I get stuck in a rut at home when I'm unable to go out and have chefs make awesome vegetarian foods for me!
A: i have a couple of staples that i rely on:
1. Humus - filling, satisfying and so easy to make.
In a blender, mix chick peas, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, salt...use it as a dip, make a pita sandwich etc.
2. Smashed Potatoes - boil New Potatoes until just tender, place on counter and "smash" with a pan so that they flatten out like a pancake, put on baking pan, sprink with salt, pepper, herbs, olive oil and bake in oven for 30 minutes until skin get's crispy. Serve with plain yogurt and fresh green onions.
Q: Are vegetarian dishes served in average restaurants in Paris?
Okay, I’m going to Paris soon with a group of friends, but being the only vegetarian in the group I don’t want to be a pain to get food for, like having to go to specifically vegetarian restaurants and whatnot. So if we go to normal restaurants, what am I most likely to be able to eat? As I’ve heard that France isn’t particularly veggie friendly...
Also, any recommendations of restaurants would be awesome. Thanks in advance :-)
No, I'm a full veggie, so I don't eat fish either.
A: I very recently came back from Paris, both me and my boyfriend are vegetarian so I made sure I did some research before hand. I can highly recommend le potager du marais, check it out on google maps. Really lovely vegetarian food that I don't think meat eaters would mind partaking it, really friendly staff, who speak brilliant english too! I also found a couple of other vegetarian places within the marais area, the names escape me though, sorry, but we both preferred the above restaurant anyway. We also found that some places had a ' salade végétarien' on their menus, and pizza places almost always had a vegi option. Italian places will often have a few dishes without meat, I had a delicious bruschetta and salad, and my boyfriend had mushroom pasta, also delicious, on our final day. I don't think you need to be too worried, but make sure you learn, if you don't know already, words in french for various meats, so you don't get caught out! Hope that helps, and I hope you have a lovely time, I am very jealous!
Q: what are some vegetarian dishes children might like to eat?
My children told me they don't want to eat animals anymore, what recipes to you feed your vegetarian children?
A: There are many recipes that you can try, it really depends on what your children like. There is a book called Better than Peanut butter and Jelly, which has many kid friendly foods.
Q: what types of vegetarian dishes are easy to make?
I have been a vegetarian for about 5 years now,and I find myself running out of things to eat.For dinner I most of the time have a carb overload, so if any good meals that are low in carbs but great in taste would be appreciated!
A: Try making Dhal. But it looks like you could do with a vegetarian cook book.
Q: Simple Vegetarian Dishes for a Black & White Party!?
I am turning 18 soon and will be having a Black and White themed party. It will be upscale and nice I plan on making mocktails and several black and white desserts (brownies, an adventurous vegan chocolate cake, and cookies) I will be placing out black and white m&ms. I am decorating with nice vases filled with black and white stones and with red roses(I will be wearing a red dress), black&white plates, cups, and silverwear, b&w tableclothes. I would like some nice vegetarian black and white or just upscale dishes on a low budget to wow my guests!
Thank you in advance...
if you have any other suggestions let me know!
I chose to have a classy 18th!!!
A: If you're okay with sticking with red too, why not a feta, black olive, and cherry tomato (or tomato slices) salad - just marinade in olive oil and red wine vinegar. Yum!
Do something nice with black beans - maybe do a dip with white corn chips? Not so upscale, but a cheap and easy appetizer.
happy 18th birthday!
Q: What are some exciting new vegan/vegetarian dishes I can make?
I LOVE using tofurky, seitan, and tofu and all vegetables!
I make pizzas, pastas, lasagnas, scrambles, stuffed tofu-basically your novelty meals.
What are other people's favorite and EASY quick dishes?
A: BBQ tofu sandwich
*Fry or saute 1 pack extra firm tofu (*depending on texture you like)
Toss w/ BBQ sauce and choice seasonings
Cut a whole wheat pita in half and add alfalfa sprouts and shredded carrots, then add bbq tofu and more sprouts and carrots
Top w/ honey mustard sauce/ or dijon nasoya/ or other vegi dressing
Q: Is there a good resource for dishes at chain restaurants in the U.S. that have good vegetarian dishes?
I usually eat at home, but when we do go out I hate always ordering a salad or grilled cheese when I do go out. Mind you, I'm looking for things that don't include animal based broth or aninal fats either. Eggs and dairy dishes are ok.
A: Besides happycow (that mainly concentrates on non-chain options) you might like this link:

as always keep in mind that individual restaurants don't always follow corporate recipes! An example would be Taco Bell where some of the stores still add meat drippings to the beans
Q: What are some good dishes for a beginning vegetarian?
I've decided to gradually phase myself into a vegan vegetarian eating habit, and I'm just trying to find out what would be something nice to eat for just starting out. And of course, as I get used to being vegetarian, I'll be eating some more devout vegetarian dishes.
A: carrots
Q: Do restaurants lose money by not offering vegetarian friendly dishes on their menu?
Obviously people can ask if the restaurant can adjust an item on the menu to be veggie friendly, but I'm sure some people just don't bother.
Or the question could be rephrased,
Do restaurants that offer vegetarian friendly dishes make more money?
A: A survey done in 2005 said that one out of every seven Americans thinks of him/herself as vegetarian, and if a restaurant would turn away one in seven customers, yes, I think it would cost them. Yes, as a vegetarian I think that restaurants which can offer me a choice would make more money by having me and other vegetarians in their market.
Q: Can some one give me the name of vegetarian dishes ?
I am a guy who is living out of my country, i am pure vegetarian and its difficult for me to find veg food here. I have been learned making food after struggling for 2 years!

I'm living right now in a country that's not too veg-friendly, too, so I feel your pain. Good luck!
