Q: What will happen if someone drinks 5mls of eucalyptus oil?
A: I think they would need to go to A&E cause essential oils are really bad if you swallow them!
Q: How will eucalyptus oil affect my cat?
If I spray the rugs and my bed???
A: Don't. The oil contains phenols which are toxic (deadly) to cats. Cats lick their paws all the time so they will pick it up on their paws and lick it off and possibly get terribly, terribly ill. In fact, sometimes people use it to repel cats from their gardens and their property.

Q: SHI TZU Dog. Eucalyptus oil for Fleas? Benedryl,Is there something better?
The fleas are so bad this year, everytime I take my shi tzu outside he gets fleas. I keep giving him baths to kill the fleas. I started him on the Program flea pills last month but it doesn't seem to keep him from getting fleas that want to hang out on him. I think that the program pills only kill flea larva. I have heard that eucalyptus oil will kill the fleas and also leave a scent on the dog that fleas don't like. Has anyone had success with this? If anyone out there has a good suggestion for fleas I am open to them. My dog seems to have the allergies to the fleas and is bitting his backside and tail all up. I have read on the net that it is safe to give dogs benedryl. I have been giving him 1/2 capsul of childrens benedryl for the itching and it helps some, but not totally. Is there anything other than benedryl that works? I am wondering if anyone out there has found the flea solution for a Shi Tzu?

Q: i just put a bit of eucalyptus oil in my ear coz it was blocked now its bleeding is that normal?
umm yeah its been blocked for a few days now cos i had a ear ache and when u sniff eucalyptus oil it unblocks ya nose so i put some in my ear then cleaned it with a cotton bud and some blood is on it is that normal
A: Putting eucalyptus oil in the ear is a bad idea. It clears your sinuses because the fumes pass through your sinuses and then can be exhaled. You dont actually put the oil right into the sinus. To do so would probably burn for a bit, and maybe even physically 'burn' the skin. The ear is different in the respect that you cant just put the fumes into the ear canal. Now that the oil is in there it has nowhere to go but to be absorbed into the body. The ear drum and other parts of the ear canal are very sensitive areas and should not be in contact with such harsh oils as eucalyptus. It is possible that the oil has done some minor damage to the skin and that could be what the blood is from, but chances are its just because you have been trying to unblock it with q-tips and just irritating things, cuz that can cause some minor bleeding. They say that the biggest thing you should try to put inside your ear canal is your elbow! Have you ever tryed ear candling?? A very simple and even relaxing technique using hollow candles to draw ear material out very gently! Hope this helps
Q: where can I buy good quality eucalyptus oil? And how can I burn it for aromatherapy for my sinuses?
A: Better health food stores sell it.
Don't burn it for aromatherapy. Simmer a few drops of it in a pot of water on your stove or put a few drops in a bowl of hot water, put your face over it and enshroud your head with a towel to hold the vapors in.
Q: Eucalyptus Oil as a flea deterrent?
I was just thinking that Koala Bears eat only eucalyptus leaves and because of that the do not have a problem with fleas or ticks and it boast their low immune system. So, if I were to put a couple drops on my dog’s neck and lower back maybe one a week would it perhaps have the same benefits? Or could it have negative affects? Or does anyone know a natural flea and tick deterrent? No advantage (or any other chemical) please!
I've tried Frontline, and it didn't work for my dogs! Really one of my dogs is allergic to fleas so I know when she starts to get them. Also my friend gave her cat a puppy dose of either advantage or frontline and she started to have a seizure. It's also costing a lot of money and my grandma is cheeping out, so that's why I’m looking for alternatives.
A: I have heard of this but have not tried it my self. I would not suggest it though because eucalyptus can be very strong and may burn your dog skin. Instead get flea deterrent from your vet. Orange oil, apple cider vinegar, and brewers yeast all deterrer fleas but don't kill them.

Q: Is Eucalyptus Oil Poisonous to Rats?
I used some Eucalyptus oil in my rats' cage to help them breathe better, and it really seemed to help (one was wheezing and shaking). Then I realized it might not be good for them so I researched it on the internet. I found some pages saying it wasn't, but then a bunch saying it was fine to use.
A: go to yahoo groups and look up holistarat. they should know.

These acts as a solvent to remove grease & Lipstick stains....
Q: Will this eucalyptus oil spray work...?
I heard that usually eucalyptus oil in hair helps with circulation in the scalp and helps with hair loss and strengthening hair and help to make it healthy again. Is this true? and can i put eucalyptus oil in a bottle of water and spray it on my hair? I have used eucalyptus oil straight on my scalp and it felt all tingly and cool. Loved it. but would it help?
A: I actually used to make a shampoo with a bit of eucalyptus essential oil in it simply for its "tingly" properties. I then switched to peppermint eo because I liked the smell better and its "tingly" properties were stronger in my opinion.
However, here is the truth. You can't actually stimulate hair growth from the outside no matter what big shampoo companies want you to believe. Ask any physiology professor and they will tell you that its what goes into your body (mainly hormones) that stimulates hair growth.
Now, I'm not a professional by any means but I am studying the integumentary system in my A&P class right now and according to what I'm learning, you can't actually "strengthen hair" but you can use things to seal the pores of the hair to make it less prone to breakage. Conditioners are commonly used for this purpose because sealing the hair pores also prevents it from getting hung up on other hairs (tangling). Does that make sense?
Also, I don't know if you are using eucalyptus essential oil or simply a fragrance oil but be careful with the essential oils. Putting too much of them directly on your scalp can cause chemical like burns in some people and damage the hair. Also, a spray bottle of water and essential oil is not going to mix (i.e. oil and water) so you would have to be sure to shake it well before use and spray what was left in the spray tube out into a sink or something to ensure an even concentration.
As far as the circulation aspect, I guess that would make sense but I'm not convinced that stimulating circulation has anything to do with the way your hair grows.
Once again, I'm NOT an expert by any means I just happen to have limited experience with EO's and their effects on skin as well as learning (still in the process of learning) about the integumentary system (hair, skin, nails).
