Q: how much weight can you lose from a detox diet for four days?
i want to do a detox diet soon to clean out my body system. if i do this diet for four days would i lose weight? and how much?
A: You have to come up with some type of a reward system, this will help keep you motivated. One of the best things to do is make a contingency contract. Stating what you want to do, who will help you do it, and what do you get for doing it.
Then also try to find a well balance diet program. My friend did this one diet program where the average weight lose is 7 pounds in 9 days. It might be the thing you are looking for, I know it's well balanced. If you want e-mail me and I can tell you more about either of these.
Q: Detox diet for people with hypoglycemic tendencies?
I am looking for a short-term detox diet or modified juice fast that will be safe for me, as I suffer from low blood sugar.
If anyone has had any experience and can recommend a good simple plan, I would greatly appreciate it!
Just to clarify, I am not interested in losing weight necessarily, but instead want to clear my body of excess toxins, build-up, etc, giving my digestive system a break and a clean start.
A: There is no such thing as a "detox" diet. The idea that you can rid yourself of toxins by dieting is a fad, not a scientific fact.
Q: What is the best home made detox diet to try?
I want to lose some weight and i heard detox diets are a good start to kick off. I just need maybe like a laid out plan of the first week and go from there.
A: Hi Lorenzo,
Be warned, the first day of this plan will be tough but if you stick with the strict fruit juice and yoghurt regime, it will kick start your detox. After that, the calorie intake for each day varies, from 800 calories on day 4, the special rice day, to 1300 calories on day 6. This carefully controlled low-fat, low-calorie diet will ensure you lose weight while the high concentration of fruit and veg will flood your system with vitamins and minerals. The result will be glowing skin and a lighter you!
The large quantity of fruit and veg needed could be expensive and some of the meals are time consuming to prepare. This diet is probably best done during a week when you're not working as you might get a headache due to the detoxification process.
If you think you can manage this process well enough, then try to follow the details as below :
Day 1: 600 calories
----------------------------
This is a fasting day. Drink loads of water and herbal teas throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch and evening meal are the same: 1 glass of unsweetened fruit or salt-free vegetable juice plus a carton of natural live yoghurt.
Try to start this diet on a non-working, quiet day and don't worry, it does get easier!
Day 2: 1200 calories
-----------------------------
Breakfast:
This is the standard breakfast you'll eat for the rest of the week. 1 portion fresh fruit (vary throughout the week between apple, pear, mango, grapes, pineapple, grapefruit), 2 slices of wholemeal toast spread with low fat cottage cheese, a carton of low-fat live yoghurt, a small glass of skimmed milk and a cup of herb or weak Indian tea without milk or sugar.
Lunch:
1 kiwi fruit, a mixed raw vegetable salad (a bed of iceberg lettuce, filled with grated carrot, celeriac and beetroot, with a squeeze of lemon juice and a drizzle of olive oil) plus 150g (6oz) of any steamed vegetables, sprinkled with a chopped clove of garlic and a drizzle of olive oil. Herb or weak Indian tea.
Dinner:
50g (2 oz) blueberries and 100g (4oz) unsweetened muesli mixed with a tablespoon of orange juice and a carton of low fat live yoghurt. Herb or weak Indian tea.
Day 3: 1100 calories
------------------------------
Breakfast:
As on day 2.
Lunch:
1 large mango, 150g (6 oz) mixed salad including watercress, fresh mint, spring onions, tomato, red and yellow peppers, chicory, baby spinach and beansprouts drizzled with a lemon juice and olive oil dressing.
1 large jacket potato with 50g (2oz) low-fat fromage frais whipped with chopped chives and a clove of garlic. Vegetable juice.
Dinner:
1 carton of low-fat live yoghurt mixed with blackberries, blueberries and 1tsp of honey. 1 crusty wholemeal roll with a matchbox size piece of soft cheese (brie, camembert, or similar). Herb or weak Indian tea.
Day 4: 800 calories
----------------------------
This is a very special day where your main food will be rice. Start by preparing the rice for the whole day. You'll need 225g (9oz) dry brown rice cooked according to the packet's instructions. If you prefer, you can cook half the rice in water and the other half in vegetable stock for a more savoury flavour. Drink only water today.
Breakfast:
75g (3oz) cooked rice with 125g (5oz) stewed apple flavoured with honey, cinnamon and grated lemon rind.
Lunch:
75g (3oz) cooked rice with 175g (7oz) steamed vegetables - celery, leek, carrot, tomato, spinach, broccoli and shredded cabbage.
Dinner:
75g (3oz) cooked rice mixed with soaked dried apricots, raisins, sultanas, and the flesh of a pink grapefruit.
Day 5: 1100 calories
-----------------------------
Breakfast:
As on day 2.
Lunch:
1 apple, 1 pear, 150g (6oz) raw vegetable salad (cauliflower and broccoli florets, carrot, spring onion, grated red cabbage, mange tout) tossed in olive oil and cider vinegar dressing, sprinkled with a teaspoon of raisins and 3 chopped brazil nuts. Large jacket potato filled with 75g (3oz) steamed spinach chopped with 2 teaspoons of olive oil, clove of garlic and a generous grating of nutmeg. Herb or weak Indian tea.
Dinner:
75g (3oz) fromage frais mixed with 1 carton of low-fat live yoghurt, poured over a generous bowl of mixed fruit salad, including kiwi, pineapple, orange, grapes, blueberries, apple. Cup of herb tea.
Day 6: 1300 calories
------------------------------
Breakfast:
As on day 2.
Lunch:
1 banana, 150g (6oz) mixed salad (shredded iceberg lettuce tomato, olives, red pepper, carrot, spring onions, cucumber, a clove of garlic, fennel and watercress) with a dressing of lemon juice, walnut oil and tarragon. 1 large jacket potato with 75g (3oz) steamed French or runner beans with a dessertspoon of sunflower oil sprinkled with finely chopped onions. Herb or weak Indian tea.
Dinner:
75g (3oz) muesli mixed with lemon juice, 1tsp honey, grated apple and 1 carton of low-fat live yoghurt. 1 slice wholemeal bread with a matchbox sized piece of brie, camembert or similar soft
Q: Where can I find a good Detox Diet and workout schedule for a competitive swimmer?
I am completely out of shape and unhealthy, and recently I heard Detox Diets can help.
However, I have looked for a good one and a good workout schedule, but have found none. Can anyone help?
A: I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurities come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Medifast. If you want to learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. This was the first time I ever did a cleanse, it was easy and I feel better. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://diet4cleansing.com
Q: Is there something else I can use to replace maple syrup in the lemon detox diet?
The Lemon Detox Diet requires grade B maple syrup. Unfortunately its virtually impossible to get it where I'm from. Are there any other ingredients I can use to substitute it?
A: I really don't know what to tell you but it sounds like some kind of fad diet, so why don't you try fad diet dot com because they have all kinds of weird diets and tips that may help you. I don't know if it'll work, but good luck.
Q: Why do you wait a week in between cycles of the Orovo Detox diet?
I just finished the first round of Orovo Detox, and am supposed to wait a week before I finish the bottle. Why do you have to wait a week in between? Is this normal for detox diets? I lost 5 lbs the first week, should I expect to keep that weight off? Do you lose as much weight the second round as the first?
A: Very normal for detox pills, at least the ones that are potent enough to do anything. I had tried a few, but nothing worked as good as Orovo Detox. I hope youre drinking a ton of water. You can expect to drink a gallon a day, and use the bathroom ten times in the morning on the detox plan, but the weight comes off. I was peaked the whole time, and the week off is because it is so strong, your body shouldnt be flushed constantly. That is why its every other week for one month. Dont be disappointed, but you probably wont lose as much the second week. I lost 6 lbs first week and only 3 the second, but that was 9 in one month. Ill take that anyday, or month
Q: What id a good detox diet I can do?

regards x kitti x
Q: Can I go on a detox diet without losing weight?
I am 5'8" 135 lbs, and I haven't been taking care of my body lately. I would really like to clean out my system to help with my skin, digestive tract, and stamina, but I fear losing weight if I cut out such things as carbonated beverages that provide a good portion of my caloric intake. Are there any detox diets that can be followed without weight loss and healthy food substitutes that will sustain weight?
A: you take the fruit diet for 2 weeks and then strat eating wheat bread , brown rice and tuna ...cucumbers ..and jilt the soda . More water ...and eat 3 meals in a day

Q: Do you have a simple, fast (under 14 days) and cost effective detox diet you can share?
I am looking for an effective and proven detox diet that does not involve costly (over $50 for products - food not included) purchases.
A: WEIGHT LOSS DIET
The program was developed in conjunction with the grant from U.S. Department of agriculture and their Food & Drug Administration. It was field tested at the John Hopkins Research Center and was approved by the Board of Directors of General Motor Corporation at a general meeting on August 15, 1995.
It is management's intention to facilitate a welfare and fitness program for everyone. This program is designed for a target weight loss of 5 to 6 Kgs per week.
It will also improve your attitude and emotions because of its systematic cleansing effects.
The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the foods eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in calorific value.
This plan can be used as often as you like without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10 pounds. You will have an abundance of Energy and an improved digestion.
DURING THESE SEVEN DAYS YOU MUST DRINK 10 GLASSES OF WATER EACH DAY.
Day One:
All fruits except bananas: Your first day will consist of all fruits you want. It is suggested you consume lots of melons the first day, especially water melons.
Day Two:
All vegetables: You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw and cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit of the amount or type. Avoid Oil and coconut while cooking vegetables. Have a large boiled potato for breakfast.
Day Three:
Any mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice: Any amount, any quantity. No bananas and no potatoes today.
Day Four:
Bananas and Milk: today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. You can also have one bowl of vegetable soup.
Day Five:
Today is a feast day: You will eat 1 cup of rice. You also have to eat six whole tomatoes. Drink 13 glasses of water today to cleanse your system of the excess uric acid you will be producing.
Day Six:
Today is another all Vegetables day. You may eat 1 cup of rice today. Eat all vegetables you want cooked and uncooked to your hearts content.
Day Seven:
Today your food intake will consist of 1 cup of rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.
Tomorrow Morning you will be five to eight Kgs lighter than 1 week ago. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again. Repeat this program as often as you like. However it is suggested that you rest for three days before every repetition.
You have your system under control now and it will thank you for all the purging and cleansing you just gave it. Even more that a diet programs it is good to follow this diet once in a while to clean your digestive system and remove toxic substances that have accumulated in the system.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
The most important element of the program is 10 tall glasses of water a day. You can also flavour the water with some lemon to make the drinking easier.
While on program take only black coffee.
Never more that 1 teaspoon of oil. Preferably do not use oil because of high calorific content. No fruit juices before day seven.
Here is what happens to your body while you are on this program and how and why it works.
Day One: you are preparing your system for upcoming program. Your only source of nutrition is fresh fruits. Fruits are nature's perfect food. They provide everything you can possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety.
Day two: Starts with mix of complex carbohydrates in the form of boiled potato. This is taken in the morning to provide energy and balance. The rest of day two consists of vegetables, which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fibers.
Day three eliminates the potato because you get your carbohydrates from fruits. Your system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds.
Day four bananas and milk sound the least desirable. Today is the day you can have coffee with milk. You are in for a surprise. You probably will not be able to eat all the bananas allowed. But they are there for the potassium you have lost and sodium you may have missed in last three days. You will experience a definite loss of desire for sweets and you will be surprised how easy this day will go.
Day five rice and tomatoes: The rice is for the carbohydrates and the tomatoes are for the digestion and the fiber. Lots and Lots of water purify your system. You should notice colorless urine today. Do not feel you have to eat 1 cup of rice, you may eat less. But you must eat the six tomatoes.
Day six is similar to five. Vitamins and fiber from vegetables and carbohydrates from the rice. By now your system is in a total weigh loss inclination. There should be noticeable difference in the way you look today compared to day one.
You may celebrate on day seven with Champaign. You may also have white wine instead of Champaign but in all practical programs and in all surveys done to measure success of the program, General Motors employees have always preferred Champaign to white wine.
More than 1 cup of coffee with milk is especially forbidden. No oil either. Milk and oil add empty calories to your diet. Avid coffee lovers can console themselves with black coffee.
However after the first week, it will help your digestion and settle your stomach. The key thing to remember is that you are not hungry at any time when dieting. The secret of this program is that you should never be hungry. If it is a vegetable day, eat as much vegetables that you are never hungry. If it is a fruits day, eat so much fruits that you are never hungry. You may be bored of eating vegetables all day, you should not be hungry. You can take any amount of General Motors wonder soup on any day.
WONDER SOUP
The following soup is intended as supplement to your diet. It can be eaten anytime of day in virtually unlimited quantities. You are encouraged to drink large quantities of this soup:
Water
Large Onions
Green Peppers
Whole tomatoes
Cabbage
Bunch celery
Thanks & Regards,
Q: i need suggestions for my detox diet?
I would like to start a detox diet to get all the yuckies out of my body, but I don't want to do anything really drastic all at once. I currently eat about 50 percent organic. I would like to do two phases of my detox.
Phase I - increased water intake, increased consumption of antioxidants and 100 percent organic food, if possible.
Phase II - the above plus detox baths.
I am by no means a health expert. If anyone out there knows about this, does my plan sound good? If not, how should I change it? If it does sound good, how long should I do each phase? Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
A: Actually, it sounds like an excellent program and here is why:
Three of the 4 ways of removing toxins from the body involves expelling water from the system (bowels, urination, sweating). This makes water the most powerful detox agent.
Maintaining balanced nutrition helps because crash diets (especially low carb) generate a great deal of uric acid and ammonia, both of which are toxic.
Vitamin C helps to excrete heavy metals from the body.
Here is what I will add:
Definitely exercise because sweating removes toxins, and shower immediately after to stop them being reabsorbed.
Here are some links to info about water and vitamin c.

Q: What do you eat/drink in the one day Detox Diet ?
I saw on IVillage that there is a one-day detox diet, I dont want to go and buy the book, so i was wondering if someone could tell me what you eat/drink for the diet
A: water fruit juice and veg juice they suggest you make your own by buying a juicer.....
Q: Has anyone gone on the lemon detox diet?
I need to loose 5 kilos fast and i have googled "the lemon detox diet" i want to know if anyone has tried it and what it was like on the detox and how much you lost.
thanks in advance!
to g0z3r,
i do have a healthy lifestyle, i am actually doing a catwalk show in a month or so and need to loose 5 kilos for that reason.
A: Is that the diet where you drink a mixture of lemon juice with cayenne pepper and maple syrup or something like that? If it is, I've been on something similar like that, a liquid diet. Don't do it. You'll get so sick.
The idea of making yourself feel full with a drink seems real easy and you will lose a lot of weight but ultimately, your body has control over you and your body will want to have something solid, thus making you overeat afterwards, kind of like a reflex.
Q: Can someone recommend me a good detox diet?
I heard from People Magazine that the stars go on Detox Diets to cleanse their bodies and lose weight quickly. I just recently gained a lot of weight over the past two or so months. I have a huge party to go to and I haven't seen most of the people there for a while. I want to look the way I did before I gained a lot of weight. What is a good three day detox plan (usually consists of eating the same low calorie food)?
A: u can try the water diet, which means before a meal drink 2 glasses of water. u will get full fast and it will digests faster, also workout, running, bikes stuff like that.
hope this helps
